BCCI Deny Rumours of Threat Against Indian Team
After the news sparks that the India cricket team is in danger, their captain, Virat Kohli shut the rumours and said that they are very excited for the upcoming matches against West Indies.

Following the reports about threats directed at the India national cricket team, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) denied the rumours. BCCI received an email saying that Virat Kohli and his team members are in danger and being watched as the West Indies tour continues.

A senior board functionary dismissed the rumours and called the threats as a 'hoax'. 'It was a hoax and all things are in order. The Indian team has been provided with an additional pilot vehicle and the Indian High Commission informed the Antigua government on the same just as a precautionary measure,'

The Indian cricket team are currently on their practice match with the West Indies in Antigua. Virat Kohli's team thrashed the Windies in the T20I and ODI matches. Most of the Indian players received the Player of the Match award for displaying outstanding performance in the field.

Kohli said that he and his team members are excited. He is also confident that the team has the potential to win the tournament in 2021.

‘It is very exciting. I think it’s happening at the right time for Test cricket. Although you are going to play a bilateral series, the meaning and importance are way more. You have to plan for every series. I was excited about something of this sort and now it’s coming to life,’ Kohli stated.

Men in Blue did well at the beginning of the practice match. They scored 297 runs, defeating the West Indies. Virat Kohli was rested due to a finger injury he got in the third ODI match. Cheteshwar Pujara posted a century and took 187 balls. He hit 8 boundaries and six which awed audiences.

India is scheduled to play two Test matches starting from August 22 at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.
